Planning, Timing, Adapting
An event can look effortless to the participants, but behind every activity is a team making sure every minute, transition, and detail falls into place. That was where I found myself as part of the Event Division for MOPK (Masa Orientasi Pengenalan Kepramukaan) at SMA Negeri 2 Cikarang Selatan. The program was attended by all 10th-grade students and featured a variety of activities designed to make their introduction to scouting both enjoyable and meaningful, while encouraging discipline, punctuality, teamwork, and responsibility. As part of the Event Division, I was involved in keeping the entire program moving. I monitored the rundown, kept track of the time for each session, coordinated with the teams involved, and helped make sure one activity transitioned smoothly into the next. Of course, not everything always went exactly according to plan. When an activity ran over time or something was missed, we had to quickly adjust the schedule and improvise without losing the flow of the event. Sometimes it meant making decisions in just a few moments and communicating them clearly to the people involved. That experience gave me a closer look at what happens behind the scenes of an event. It taught me that good event coordination is not only about having a well-prepared rundown, but also about knowing how to stay calm, communicate, and adapt when the situation changes. Looking back, MOPK was more than just a committee experience. It was one of the experiences that helped me become more comfortable with responsibility, teamwork, time management, and making quick decisions in real situations.
